Children's Room

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS:

Everyone attending a Children’s Program who is age 3 or older will need to wear a mask, whether or not they have been vaccinated.  Family groups will be seated 3 feet apart and space at all programs will be very limited.  Free tickets will be passed out to people within one hour of the beginning of the program.

Lap Sit for infants & toddlers is held every Wednesday morning from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.  Join Miss Lois for stories, songs & fingerplays.

Stories with Miss Lucie is held on Fridays from 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. for Pre-K and up.

STEAM Story Time for ages 4-7 is held virtually.  Episodes are recorded so your family can watch and participate at your convenience.   Each episode includes several books about one topic and a related activity.  Make & Take kits available in the Children’s Room.  Due to publishers’ copyright restrictions, you must join the Ashland Public Library Story Time Group on Facebook to view the programs.

Lego Club is held two Thursdays each month for 45 minutes.  Kids age 5 - Up will build using only what is inside their Mystery Box.  The creations will be displayed in the Children’s Room for one month.  Limited to 18 kids per session.

Read-To-A-Dog is held several times a month.  Children with some reading ability can read aloud to one of our certified therapy dogs.  A great way to practice oral reading skills or to get more comfortable around dogs.  Please check the calendar for days and times.

Book Chat for Grades 3-4-5 is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m.  Join Miss Lucie to talk about the books that you’ve been reading.  A great way to hear about other books you might enjoy!

PJ Story Time is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.  Come in your pajamas to hear Miss Lucie read stories.  Bring along your favorite stuffed animal!

Asland Mom’s Club Little Crafters is held on the 4th Monday of every month at 10:15 a.m.  Craft activities for ages 0 - 5.

YMCA Play, Learn & Grow for kids from infants up to age 5 meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  This is a structured program to help prepare children for socialization and a school experience, including stories, crafts, music and sensory exploration.  You may attend one day per week and masks must be worn by everyone by age 3 - up
