2013 Runners

Statement From Executive Director
Statement from Thomas Grilk, Executive Director of the Boston Athletic Association, Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) extends its deepest sympathies to all those who were affected by Monday's tragic events. Those who lost their lives and were injured are in our thoughts and prayers.

It is a sad day for the City of Boston, for the running community, and for all those who were here to enjoy the 117th running of the Boston Marathon. What was intended to be a day of joy and celebration quickly became a day in which running a marathon was of little importance.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all of the B.A.A. medical personnel and volunteers and the City of Boston's first responders who reacted so courageously to help save lives. Special thanks to...continue reading at BAA.org.
Chuck Gennari
My name is Chuck Gennari. I have lived in Southborough Mass with my wife and two children (who are now away at college) for almost 15 years. I have lived in the Metrowest area almost all my life. Last years' Boston marathon was my first marathon and was a tough way to start my running career...but I finished despite the heat! I am pleased to again help fund raise for the city of Ashland in support of their community and social services programs...and I want to thank you in advance for your generous donation.

Paul Kondrat
My wife Jessica and I have lived in Ashland since 2003 and during our time here have added two sons to our family, Tyler (7) and Zachary (3). We love the town and I am honored to be running the Boston Marathon to help raise money for it. I remember watching the marathon over the years, in awe of the runners, thinking I could never do it. I took up running in 2010 and since then have completed four half marathons and two marathons. So get out there and run, You can do it! I am very excited to take on Boston on April 15th and expect to hear our town cheering louder than any other.

Carolyn Mulvey
I grew up in Framingham watching the Boston Marathon. My brother, Chris, ran it last year in the brutal heat. He has inspired me to give it a shot! I am excited to have the opportunity to run and to raise money for Ashland in the process. It is my fourth year working in the Ashland Public School system. Currently, I am a first grade teacher at Henry E Warren Elementary School. I am looking forward to helping the community through my fundraising. I also cannot wait to run past my students on the day of the race!

I am the CFO at the best company on the planet, Daymark Solutions in Lexington, MA. This will be my third consecutive Boston Marathon running for the Town of Ashland and my fourth marathon overall.
