Construction Updates
(Update 11/16/22)
Mindess Site Paving - This Saturday
*Update* Today’s weather has postponed the start of paving. We have three days of paving activities planned. With paving contractors booked solid to get paving done on all projects before winter conditions, this delay creates scheduling challenges with the paving contractor. They are available to complete the paving this Saturday, otherwise it not known when they would be available to complete the work. The work will begin at 8am.
The Mindess project team asked me to notify you that, weather permitting, they will be paving (a binder coat) part of the loop road and main parking lot the second half of next week. The primary impact is the general smell that occurs when doing any significant paving.
Eversource Gas Work
*Update* Eversource has updated the team that they plan to make the natural gas connection at Concord street on Friday 11/25.
Eversource has informed the team that they plan to make the natural gas connection at Concord street on Saturday 11/19. This activity is scheduled and managed by Eversource and NOT the project team. The only impact we have been informed of is a temporary lane closure on Concord street.
Downtown Paving & Detouring - Update
*Update*Due to today’s weather, the downtown paving is now scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday 11/17.
During a coordination call with other town departments, they informed us that the contractor for the downtown project is planning to pave front and main streets on 11/16. Expect increased traffic during their paving activities, as they will be temporarily detouring traffic onto Concord street. Like our paving, it is weather dependent, so the date could shift. This, like the Eversource work, is not managed by the Mindess project team, but we wanted to pass along the information.
