Virtual: Hot Or Not? Global Surface Temperature Measurements From Space

Learn about the physics behind thermal remote sensing to measure the temperature of the Earth. Some applications will also be discussed. Led by Dr. Nabin Malakar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Environment and Physics at Worcester State University. Dr. Malakar has a wide-ranging research interest including societal applications of remote sensing data, land surface temperature, air pollution, and application of machine learning to earth sciences. H previously worked in the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory/Caltech and developed global Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity products for thermal infrared sensors onboard MODIS Terra, MODIS Aqua, Landsat, and VIIRS satellites.
