General comment:
The site contractors are aware of critical times during the day when traffic to the train station is high and will make all efforts to not adversely impact or delay commuters. Please expect delays and plan accordingly. Traffic traveling into the station in the morning is a priority over traffic leaving the station. One lane will remain open during construction.
Week ending 3/31/2017 construction activities: The roadway contractor continued the installation of the water main along the edge of the paved MBTA Access roadway toward RT 135. Eversource gas connected the new gas main to their existing gas main at the ball field.
Next week (4/03- 4/7) construction activities: The roadway contractor will be installing hydrants, water main and sewer main beginning from RT 135 to approximately 500 feet up the MBTA Access road. No work will take place in or on Rt. 135. Eversource will not be working on the roadway.
Week ending 3/24/2017 construction activities: The roadway contractor continued installation of the water main along of water main cross trenches across the road. A second crew was removing ledge for water main at station 7+00. Eversource gas install a new gas main across the street by the school ball fields.
Next week (3/27- 3/31) construction activities: Water main and sewer construction will continue near the intersection of the MBTAaccess road and West Union Street. The construction crew will adjust hours in this area to minimize the impact on traffic flow at this intersection and near the Dunkin Donuts entrance. At this time, Eversource is schedule to continue working on the gas main across the roadway near the entrance to the RTD. One lane of traffic will remain open during this process.
