[ARCHIVED] BRUSH DUMP INFORMATION -DPW

***** WEATHER PERMITTING *****

Due to the heavy winter storms, there are a lot of limbs and trees downed, Please bring your brush for disposal. The Brush Dump is located in the DPW Yard and is open for Ashland residents only. If you are unable to carry / bring the brush to the DPW, consider obtaining a Burn permit from the Ashland Fire department at: http://ashlandfire.com/31/Burning-Permits

******** BURN PERMITS ARE AVAILABLE UNTIL MAY 1st, 2018 ***********

Note: Leaves and other yard waste is prohibited from landfills and incinerators in Massachusetts and cannot be disposed of with your household trash.  Residents are encouraged to consider home composting of this material or dispose of yard waste at the brush dump.

2018 Storm Brush Dump Schedule:

Open Saturday 3/31/2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 PM.

Rules for the Brush Dump

  • The use of this site is for Ashland residents only.

  • No yard waste from commercial sources will be accepted.

  • Dumping of material other than yard waste is strictly forbidden.

  • Leaving of yard waste at the gates of the site after hours is considered illegal dumping and is punishable by a fine. The premises has video surveilance.

  • Brush/branches must be under 4 inches in diameter.

  • Limbs are accepted as long as they are smaller than 8 inches in diameter and smaller than 8 inches in length.

  • Fence posts and lumber will not be accepted.

  • Biodegradable paper bags are acceptable for disposal. All plastic trash bags must be emptied and removed from the site by the resident.

  • No poison ivy, oak, sumac or other harmful plants will be accepted.

  • Home composting is encouraged.
