Virtual: The History Of Simon & Garfunkel

Thursday, February 9, 2023

If you took the rich harmonies of the Everly Brothers and matched it with the lyricism of Bob Dylan the result might be Simon & Garfunkel. Often considered the thinking person’s rock ‘n’ rollers they were also one of the most successful musical acts of the 1960’s. Using audio and visual content, trace the arc of Simon & Garfunkel’s career from their surprise teenybopper hit “Hey Schoolgirl”… to the folk-rock classic “Sound of Silence”… to the ever popular “Mrs. Robinson”… to the majesty of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Led by Gary Wenstrup, who has taught courses on the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Motown Records for the Continuing Education Departments of College of DuPage and Oakton (IL) Community College. Wenstrup has  lectured at over 80 public libraries. Besides being featured on radio broadcasts and in newspaper articles, he is also a reoccurring guest on the widely respected podcast “Something About The Beatles.”
