IN-PERSON: ELL Conversation Circles @ the Hopkinton Library *For Adults

Ashland Library is thrilled to be partnering with the Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library to bring ELL (England Language Learner) services to our community! So, if you or someone you know is looking for some support in learning and practicing English skills as well as creating a support circle for yourself, please feel free to join us either in-person or online (meetings alternate between in person and virtual - this week's meeting is in person!)

DIY Green Products - All Natural Homemade Deodorant *For Adults

We're learning to make you own green products! You'll learn how to make an easy, sustainable cleaning or beauty product that will have ingredients you can trust and products you'll be happy to use. We'll also be discussing why we're moving towards green products, how the ingredients work, if there are any safety concerns about them, and how making these small changes can help the world. The library is partnering with Lisa Uglialoro, a member of GreenUp Ashland, to bring this program to you.

Virtual: Solving the "Unsolvable" Problem of Renewable Energy Storage

We're so pleased to partner with the Cary Library's Science Café to welcome MIT Professor Donald Sadoway, winner of the highly prestigious 2022 European Inventor Award for his work on liquid metal batteries that could enable the long-term storage of renewable energy. In 2010, with a patent for his invention and support from Bill Gates, Sadoway co-founded Ambri, based in Marlborough just outside Boston, to develop a commercial product. The company will soon install a unit on a 3,700-acre development for a data center in Nevada. This battery will store energy from a reported 500 megawatts of on-site renewable generation, the same output as a natural gas power plant.
