  • The Library will be CLOSED on Monday, April 20th in observance of Patriot's Day.

Service Disruptions:

  • The Library will be experiencing service disruptions. On these dates, access to computers, printing, and study rooms may be limited. Most spaces will be in use for the event and it will be a noisy day. It might be a good idea to check out other local libraries if you need a quiet place to work. :

Renew Your Library Card Online


Did you know that your library card expires every 5 years? It does! Up until now, you had to come in or call to update it but now, with the magic of the internet, you can renew online!

 You can self-renew your library card online by following this link. In case you encounter a problem with renewing online, you can call the library or visit in person to renew your library card.

Returning Items:

All book drops are open and you can return items in the building!  All items (including media) may be returned in the same book drops, although we do have an outdoor one labelled just for media if you're being super cautious (which we appreciate!). If a book drop is locked, please do not attempt to force the slot open to return items. We will no longer be quarantining returned materials.

Can you suggest some books to support discussions about racism and diversity ?

Yes, these titles are part of the Ashland Public Library collection. Please check our online catalog for new titles, which we add regularly. 

I want to donate books.  Can I drop them off at the library?

We are accepting donations on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9:30-1pm. A volunteer will be available in the parking lot to help if needed. You may also use our convenient donation bin located just inside the parking lot entrance any time the library is open.

What is my PIN?

When we issue library cards, we set the PIN as the last four digits of your library card number (barcode on the back of the library card).  If that doesn't work, it means you likely personalized it through "My Account".  If you can't remember your personalized PIN, please call the library 508 881-0134 and we can reset it.  Staff will be available Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ashland is a member of the Minuteman Library Network. Massachusetts residents may obtain a library card by presenting a photo ID with proof of current address, or apply online.

Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service providing access to more than 30,000 films and documentaries from a variety of independent filmmakers and distributors, including the BBC, PBS, A24, and the Criterion Collection. Ashland residents with Ashland Public Library cards will be able to watch 4 films per month.

The Minuteman mobile app puts the library in your pocket!  Look for the Minuteman Mobile in the App Store and Google Play and download the app to your smartphone or tablet.  Search the catalog, renew items, manage your holds and check out items using your camera's phone or use your digital library card to check out items at one of our staff assisted checkout stations.
