Sewer Rehabilitation Project
As part of its continuing efforts to identify and remove extraneous flows into the Town’s sewer system, the Town of Ashland, Department of Public Works (W&S Dept.) will be cleaning and televising the sewer system on the streets noted below in the near future. This effort will be completed by Insituform, LLC under the direction of the Town’s engineering consultant, Haley Ward, Inc. The purpose of this work is to assess the sewer condition, identify groundwater infiltration sources, and prepare the sewer lines for further rehabilitation. Work is tentatively scheduled to be completed in January and February 2026, generally Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm.
Working Locations- Week of January 19
BLD crew to begin working this week. The crew will be starting on the Western side of Town working their way East. We anticipate that BLD will be able to complete multiple streets per day. For the full listing of streets incorporated in this phase of the project please see the table below.
What to Expect
Insituform’s lateral inspection firm, BLD Services LLC, will be inspecting areas of the sewer system identified as having large infiltration volumes using specialized Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment. No action is required from residents. You may experience sewer odors coming from inside your home or business through floor drains, sinks or toilets. To correct this problem, flush the toilets and run water down all sinks and drains to refill plumbing traps within your home to block sewer gases as intended, and air out the affected area.
Some of this work will occur within existing sewer easements and will require personnel to cross private property at various locations to gain access to the sewer manholes and complete their work.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Ashland Water & Sewer Department at (508) 532-7953.
